Nonreligious LGBTQ People in America
LGBTQ people are among the populations most affected by religiously motivated stigma, and so it is not surprising that about half of LGBTQ people are nonreligious, a far greater proportion than among cisgender/heterosexual Americans. This report from American Atheists reveals new data about LGBTQ nonreligious people and provides recommendations for both secular organizations and LGBTQ organizations that seek to better engage and support this population.
